Ski season runs from mid-June through mid-September.
Valle Nevado, El Colorado-Farellones and La Parva, about 50 kms (35 mi) from Santiago, offer activities like ski, snowboard and heliski, among others in their long and varied ski fields. Their facilities have a varied gastronomical offer.
Two hours north of Santiago is Portillo, one of the main winter resorts of Chile and the South Hemisphere. It has huge ski fields, and restaurants.
